I've set myself some fairly aspirational goals when it comes to races that I'd like to compete in. Here is a list of races that I'll be competing in, as well as an aspirational list of "dream" races. Click the race name for a link to the website.
2012
- Apollo Bay Half Marathon - A beautifully scenic two day running festival along the spectacular Great Ocean Road.
- Melbourne Marathon - This will be my first full length Marathon. Where else to do it but my home city
- Ironman 70.3 Laguna Phuket - Stunning tropical scenery and a challenging course. Perfect for my first Ironman 70.3
2013
- Two Bays Trail Run - 28K trail run across the Mornington Peninsula from Dromana to Cape Schank
- Six Foot Track Marathon - Renowned as one of the hardest marathons in the world. 45K trail run through the rugged Blue Mountains of New South Wales
- Osaka Marathon - I once saw a video of this race. It looked fantastic. I can't wait to race it.
- Singapore 70.3 - I love this city. The combination of my love for Singapore and the challenge of the heat and humidity make this race a must do.
- Taiwan 70.3 - Hot, windy and humid beyond belief.
- Philippines 70.3 - Great course in a beautful country.
- Bussellton 70.3 - Widely acclaimed as one of the top 70.3 races in the world.
- Ironman Australia Port Macquarie - My first ever Ironman race. Ironman Australia!
- Byron Bay Triathlon - My wife loves Byron. Do you really need a reason to go somewhere this beautiful?
The "One Day" list
- Kona! - No introduction needed.
- Norseman - I saw the promo for this race and almost fell off my chair. Cruel. Beautiful. This is the race above all others that I want to do one day.
- Wildflower - As famous as they get. A celebrity race.
- Escape From Alcatraz - Could there be a cooler location for a race? I don't think so.
- New York Marathon - Just because it's there!
- Boston Marathon- One day for sure!
